Large grocery stores are entering the mobile universe by offering apps to help win over customers and help them with their grocery shopping – and one grocery chain is the latest.
The free app, available on iPhones, iPads and iPods, will help shoppers find weekly specials, recipes and directions to the nearest store. In addition, the app will help with creating virtual shopping lists and give an opportunity to sign up for the store’s customer loyalty program.
While the new app is a start, with the ability of consumers to already receive coupons and information included in the app online, what will be the incentive for to download and use?
If the company could enhance their strategy by providing unique capabilities like downloading coupons, perhaps the new app could engage even more customers and add to its potential value.
